Janus: In Roman mythology, Janus (or Ianus) was the god of gates, doors, doorways, beginnings, and endings. His most apparent remnants in modern culture are his namesakes, the month of January and the caretaker of doors and halls

Janus was the god of gates, doors, doorways, beginnings, and endings. His most apparent remnants in modern culture is his namesake, the month of January.

All good things must come to an end...

Mooncoin have now played their Last Gig

One of the region's most popular folk bands have after 14 years on the scene given their last performance together.  But as a farewell they have launched their latest (and final!) CD "Janus".  Janus was the god of gates, doors, doorways, beginnings, and endings.

Janus' most apparent remnants in modern culture is his namesake, the month of January, and as Mooncoin's last gig was in January this seems quite an appropriate name to say farewell.
